JOB TITLE:  High School Natural Resources - Assistant Advisor     

REPORTS TO:  Building Principal

JOB SUMMARY: 

Seaside High School is seeking a team-oriented professional who will assist in administering the Natural Resources program under the leadership of the Head advisor and Principal.  Responsibilities will include advising and providing direction to students so that they might achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, and teamwork; additional duties as may be assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Natural Resources experience.
  2. High school diploma or equivalent.
  3. Criminal history clearance (background check and HB 2062).
  4. CPR and First Aid certified.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Spanish speaking skills desired.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Follows and maintains knowledge of District policy(ies) and procedures relevant to this position.
  1. Instructs and demonstrates skill sets and techniques necessary for individual and team achievement.
  2. Plans and sets-up activities, practices and contests as assigned by the head advisor.
  3. Develops appropriate activity schedules when assigned by the head advisor.
  4. Ensures that proper storage, maintenance and inventory of all equipment.
  5. Adheres to District financial policies in regard to collection and disbursement of money, expenses, and receipts.
  6. Enforces discipline policies and emphasizes teamwork and healthy lifestyles.
  7. Supervises students during on-campus and off-campus activities and ensures appropriate behavior.
  8. Maintains a safe environment and facilities for students at all times.
  9. Ensures that medical and safety requirements are adhered to.
  10. Completes District injury report within 24 hours for any student injury, even if student does not see physician.
  11. Performs duties as assigned by head advisor.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Salary as per negotiated contract, $2576 - $2792 per season.
