JOB TITLE: Middle School Math Teacher
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB SUMMARY: To provide education services to students in a classroom setting. The teacher instructs students, maintains student discipline and is responsible for student academic achievement.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
- Hold or be eligible for Oregon Teaching Certification with at least a Foundational Math endorsement.
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with students, staff, and parents through an equitable and trauma informed lens.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Multiple endorsements, Trauma Informed Care knowledge, and SIOP/Constructive Meaning training.
2. Willingness to work with extra-curricular activities.
3. Spanish speaker.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement adopted Math curriculum and develop supplemental instructional materials that are aligned to grade level standards and suitable for students with a wide range of mental, physical, and emotional maturities.
- Use data to inform instruction, evaluate academic growth, and monitor student progress on grade level standards.
- Maintain appropriate records.
- Actively engage in curriculum and/or faculty committees as interested or required.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to support student learning.
- Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students & their parents concerning academic and behavioral progress of student.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190-Day Contract at 1.0 FTE. Based on current SEA salary schedule and negotiated agreement, ($50,073-$101,649 annually) with excellent benefits including Medical, Dental and Vision insurance and Oregon state retirement.
