JOB TITLE:  Elementary Music Teacher, 1.0 FTE

REPORTS TO:  Building Principal

 

JOB SUMMARY:  To provide education services to students in a classroom setting.  The teacher instructs students, maintains student discipline and is responsible for student academic achievement.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
  2. Hold or be eligible for Oregon Teaching Certification with Elementary Level authorization and a music endorsement.
  3. Ability to establish positive working relationships with students, staff, and parents.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Trauma Informed Care & Restorative Practices knowledge.
  2. SIOP/Constructing Meaning training.
  3. Spanish language skills

 

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide Music instruction within the elementary school, aligned with the Oregon Content and Performance Standards.
  2. Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students.
  3. Prepares and administers subject/topical specific tests to measure student abilities and progress.
  4. Designs and implements appropriate instruction assigned in accordance with students' needs, District curriculum and state standards.
  5. Conducts appropriate assessments of students' work and maintains accurate and regular data on students in areas of attendance, grades and IEP progress, if applicable.
  6. Work with other staff as part of a team to provide the best instruction possible to students.
  7. Computer/technology skills.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190-Day Contract at 1.0 FTE.  Based on current SEA salary schedule and negotiated agreement, salary dependent on the negotiated agreement ($50,073-$101,649 annually) with excellent benefits including Medical, Dental and Vision insurance and Oregon state retirement.  Paid time off includes one sick day per month worked and three personal days, pro-rated per school year.
