JOB TITLE: Temporary Secondary Choir Teacher, 1.0 FTE
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB SUMMARY: To provide education services to students in a classroom setting. The teacher instructs students, maintains student discipline and is responsible for student academic achievement.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
- Hold or be eligible for Oregon Teaching Certification with Middle School/High School Level authorization and a music endorsement.
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with students, staff, and parents through an equitable and trauma informed lens.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree.
- Spanish language skills.
- Proficient in the use of educational technology
- Background in supporting musical theater productions.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide music instruction through high school and middle school choirs aligned with the Oregon Content and Performance Standards.
- Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students.
- Assists in the selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials.
- Designs and implements appropriate instruction assigned in accordance with student needs, district curriculum, and state standards.
- Conducts appropriate assessments of students' work and maintains accurate and regular data on students in areas of attendance, grades and IEP progress, if applicable.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Pro-rated 190-day contract at 1.0 FTE, starting as soon as possible. Temporary for 2024-2025 school year. Based on current SEA salary schedule and negotiated agreement, $48,380 – $98,212 annually, pro-rated, with excellent benefits including Medical, Dental and Vision insurance and Oregon state retirement. This position includes an extended duty contract for Vocal Music. Paid time off includes one sick day per month worked and three personal days, pro-rated per school year.
