JOB TITLE:  Temporary Part-Time Elementary Reading Intervention Teacher, 0.5 FTE.

REPORTS TO:  Building Principal

JOB SUMMARY:  To provide supplemental reading instruction to students struggling to meet Common Core State Standards.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
  2. Hold or be eligible for Oregon Teaching Certification with endorsements in Reading Intervention and Multiple Subjects Self-Contained at the Elementary Level.
  3. Ability to establish positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Proficient in Trauma Informed Practices and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) including Growth Mindset.
  2. Proficient in the use of educational technology.
  3. Spanish speaking, reading and writing skills.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide individual and small group instruction to meet individual needs and help students make satisfactory progress in the areas of reading, writing and math.
  2. Develop and use instructional materials suitable for verbal or visual instruction of pupils with a wide range of mental, physical, and emotional maturities.
  3. Evaluate academic and social growth of students and maintain appropriate records.
  4. Participate on grade level data teams and use data to plan for instruction.
  1. Communicate with parents and staff to promote best learning opportunities for students.
  2. Work with other staff as a part of a team to provide the best instruction possible to students.
  3. Actively engage in curriculum and/or faculty committees as required. 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  190-Day Contract at 0.5 FTE, temporary for the 2024-2025 school year. Based on current SEA salary schedule and negotiated agreement, salary dependent on the 2024-2025 negotiated agreement ($48,380 - $98,212 x 0.5 FTE = $24,190 - $49,106) with excellent benefits including Medical, Dental and Vision insurance and Oregon state retirement.  Paid time off includes one sick day per month worked and two personal days, pro-rated per school year.
