JOB TITLE: Occupational Therapist
REPORTS TO: Special Services Director
JOB SUMMARY: This position evaluates and provides on-site occupational therapy services to children who have mental and/or physical disabilities and who are on a current Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 Plan.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, minimum two years experience working with children.
- Current holds a license set forth by the American Occupational Therapy Association
- Meets State of Oregon licensure requirements for Occupational Therapy. Other certificates as determined by the district.
- Proficient with database software, email, internet software, and word processing software.
- Holds a current driver’s license.
- Criminal history clearance (background check and HB 2062).
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works collaboratively with parents and staff to support the total educational program. Attends meetings related to caseload.
- Evaluates children to identify the need for occupational therapy services and type/level of service.
- Interprets data to design a treatment plan. Re-evaluates the plan on an annual basis via IEP and reevaluates eligibility as needed.
- Implements treatment plan for individuals or groups. Provides training to instructional assistants and others within the educational plan.
- Documents appropriate information as required (i.e., written evaluations, test results, progress reports, notes, and other child records). Maintains confidentiality.
- Confers with other professional and general staff members to coordinate, schedule, and implement occupational therapy goals and objectives within the educational plan.
- Serves as a resource for medically related information for parents, school staff, and teachers.
- Maintains communication with other professionals, general staff members, parents, and other public and private agencies (e.g., Children's' Services Division, Shriners) related to the child's needs, progress, and safety.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190-day contract at 1.0 FTE, starting Fall 2026. Salary of $73,690-$109,933, dependent on experience with excellent benefits including Medical, Dental and Vision insurance and Oregon state retirement.
