JOB TITLE:  Middle School Track – Head Coach            

REPORTS TO:  Athletic Director and Building Principal

 

JOB SUMMARY: 

Seaside Middle School is seeking a team-oriented professional who will administer the MS track program under the leadership of the Athletic Director.  Responsibilities will include the development, implementation and fiscal control of the MS track budget; direct involvement with the promotion of the program; supervising and disciplining players during practices and games; and additional duties as may be assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Track experience.
  2. High school diploma or equivalent.
  3. Criminal history clearance (background check and HB 2062).
  4. CPR and First Aid certified.
  5. NFHS Coaching Education certified.

PRFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Three years or more of head coaching experience.
  2. Computer/technology skills.
  1. Spanish language skills.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Oversee the varsity and junior varsity teams.
  2. Select, manage, educate, and evaluate assistant coaches for the program.
  3. Follows and maintains knowledge of District policy(ies) and procedures relevant to this position.
  4. Instructs and demonstrates skill sets and techniques necessary for individual and team achievement.
  5. Insures a certified coach is present at all practices and contests.
  6. Ensures that proper storage, maintenance and inventory of all athletic equipment and uniforms is adhered to.
  7. Travels and supervises student athletes on the team bus both to and from contests.
  8. Adheres to all financial policies of the District in regard to collection and disbursement of money, expenses, and receipts.
  9. Maintains necessary records and completes required paperwork in a specified time and manner.
  10. Enforces discipline policies and emphasizes sportsmanship and healthy lifestyles.
  11. Supervises students in locker rooms at home and away contests and ensures appropriate behavior.
  12. Ensures that appropriate rules and regulations regarding the conduct and eligibility of athletic activities and athletes are explained and followed.
  13. Maintains a safe environment and facilities for student athletes at all times.
  14. Ensures that medical and safety requirements are adhered to.
  15. Completes District injury report for any student injured within 24 hours, even if student athlete does not see physician.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Starts spring season of 2025-2026 school year. Salary as per negotiated contract, $3172 - $3432 per season. Open until filled.
